SMS forwarding requires an internet connection to send messages to the destination platforms. If your phone is offline when an SMS arrives, the forwarding will fail. However, when your phone comes back online and receives a new SMS, the automation will trigger again and both the old and new messages will be forwarded.
Currently, Forward SMS is only available for iOS. An Android version is not planned at this time, as the app is specifically built around iOS Shortcuts and App Intents functionality.
