Prerequisites
Before setting up MS Teams forwarding, make sure you have:
- ✅ Forward SMS app installed
- ✅ iOS Shortcuts automation configured (Required first step)
- ✅ Microsoft Teams workspace with permissions to create webhooks
Setup Steps
Step 1: Create Teams Incoming Webhook
To forward messages to MS Teams, you need to create an incoming webhook:
- Open Microsoft Teams app (desktop or mobile)
- Go to your Team and select the Channel where you want to receive messages
- Tap More options (•••) next to the channel name
- Select Manage Channel
- Go to Connectors section and tap Edit
- Search for "Incoming Webhook"
- Tap Add or Configure
- Configure your webhook:
- Name: Give it a name (e.g., "SMS Forwarding")
- Image: Optionally upload an icon
- Tap Create
- Copy the Webhook URL (it looks like
https://yourteam.webhook.office.com/webhookb2/...)
Important: Keep this webhook URL private. Anyone with the URL can send messages to your Teams channel.
Step 2: Configure Forward SMS App
Now add the Teams webhook to your Forward SMS app:
- Open Forward SMS app
- Tap Create New Rule or "+" button
- Select MS Teams as the destination type
- Paste the Webhook URL you copied from Teams
- Tap Send Test Message to test the integration
- Check your Teams channel to verify the test message arrived
- Tap "Save"
Your SMS messages will now automatically forward to your Microsoft Teams channel!
